Built for Drivers Who Want Results, Not Just Ride-Alongs

Whether you’re working toward your first solo sign-off or chasing tenths in a competitive class, the goal is the same: identify what’s costing you time, build the skills to fix it, and prove it.

RaceCoach.net is led by Dave Scott, a professional coach with decades of real-world racing and instruction experience. Sessions are tailored to your car, your track, and your current skill gaps. You’ll leave each day with specific changes to make, plus a simple way to practice them.

If you already run data and video, great. If you don’t, we’ll still work from fundamentals: braking approach, vision, line discipline, car placement, and repeatability. When data is available, we use it to validate what you felt and track progress over time.

Every coaching day is built around:

  • Pre-session goal setting based on your experience and event plan
  • On-track coaching (in-car where permitted)
  • Between-session debriefs that focus on one or two changes at a time
  • Post-session video and/or telemetry review when available
  • Clear action items for your next session
Why work with RaceCoach.net

Coaching Measured by Data, Not Hype

You’ll understand what changed, why it worked, and what to practice next.

Clear feedback, fast

Direct coaching that focuses on what matters most right now, not everything at once.

Progress you can repeat

Anyone can have a “good lap.” The goal is being consistently quick on demand.

Video + telemetry when available

We use data to validate gains, spot patterns, and remove guesswork between events.

At-track or remote

On-site coaching for events, plus remote review to keep improvement moving between weekends.

Who We Coach

Common Driver Situations We Solve

If one of these sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

“I’m new to HPDE and want to build real fundamentals.”

We focus on vision, braking approach, line discipline, and car placement so you progress safely and confidently through run groups.

HPDE novice

“I’m consistent, but not getting faster.”

We identify the limiting factor (often one or two habits), then build a repeatable fix. Data and video help remove guesswork when you have them.

plateau breaker

“I race and need tenths, not theory.”

We work on braking efficiency, rotation timing, traffic management, and decision-making under pressure, with a coaching rhythm that fits the weekend.

racer

“My team needs a shared plan and clean communication.”

For multi-driver weekends, we structure goals, review sessions efficiently, and keep everyone aligned so improvement stacks across the whole team.

FAQ

Quick Answers Before You Reach Out

If you don’t see your question here, send a note with your track, car, and goals.

Do you coach brand-new HPDE drivers?

Yes. Coaching early can shorten the learning curve and build safe, repeatable habits from day one. We keep the focus tight and progress at your pace.

At which track do you coach?

Coaching is available nationwide (and Canada) for track days and race weekends. Remote review is also available between events.

What data and video systems do you work with?

Most common platforms work. If you have a specific setup (AiM, RaceChrono, GoPro, etc.), include it in your message and we’ll confirm the best way to share files.

How far in advance should I book?

If you have a specific event date, reach out as early as you can. Availability varies by track calendar and travel schedule.

Do you share coaching with co-drivers or teams?

Yes. Multi-driver weekends can be structured so each driver gets targeted coaching and the team stays aligned on priorities.

Ready to Get Faster?

Track time is expensive. Coaching turns it into progress. Share your next event, experience level, and goals and we’ll recommend the right format.

Best next step: send your track/date, car, and current run group (or race class).
